About the Exhibition
The Portrait Within invites viewers into a world where emotion, history, and visual storytelling converge. Drawing on the timeless influence of classical painting and personal narrative, Elena Raga’s portraits blur the line between past and present, external and internal.
Each portrait is paired with the original artwork that inspired it, offering an intimate glimpse into the creative dialogue between muse and memory, past and present.
Each image is a quiet revelation, a meditation on identity, resilience, and the power of transformation.
About the Artist
Elena Raga is a Sydney-based fine art photographer known for her emotionally rich, painterly aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from classical masters, such as Vermeer, Mucha, and Modigliani, her work explores the quiet power of human presence and the layers of personal narrative hidden within a single image.
Her journey into fine art portraiture began during the 2020 lockdown, as a way to bring light and focus into a difficult time for her family. That creative spark grew into a larger exploration of self-expression, ultimately earning her international publication and First Prize at the New York Center for Photographic Art.
